SPECIAL PROGRAMS

For those students who have special talents, a number of extracurricular programs are available for students to join. For example, TOEIC , TEPS and English listening classes are offered to students who want to improve their aptitude for English. Students with athletic talents can join such sports teams as golf, ice hockey, bowling, and so on. There are also many clubs that attract students, including the drama club, the musical band, the dance club, etc. To promote club activities and give them satisfaction for achieving their work, a stage of performance, named 'The Spring of Youth' is held every month.

Sorabol High School has been selected as one of the leading schools which have extensive educational database and utilize advanced information/computer skills for teaching and learning. All of the classes are integrated into a computer network to which each student has an easy access. Our staffs are working hard to improve their computer skills, loading their teaching material into the network so that students can search and study the material for themselves and communicate with their teachers and classmates.

Living in an educational environment where anyone can travel around the cyber space without limitations in search for answers to their intellectual curiosities, our schools focus on special programs to assist students in understanding cultural differences existing among social groups and international communities. We believe that schools in the cyber age need to provide opportunities for students to acquire global perspectives towards peaceful coexistence and cooperation among different identities. This is why we have been maintaining exchange programs with private high schools in Japan and China. The foremost importance has been on the language programs between the schools. For the objectives, we are launching a new exchange program with a private school in the United States.

SISTER SCHOOLS AND EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

The 21st Century is called the era of information technology. The cyber space in this information age goes beyond our imagination and makes traditional territorial boundaries obsolete. Everyone can travel instantly anywhere in the cyber world in search for valuable information and   knowledge. The question we are asking today is whether you are equipped with the skills to navigate the
  cyber space and if yo
u have the capacity to understand foreign cultures.

Facing new challenges, Sorabol schools have established sinter relationship with two schools: Sundai High School   in Tokyo, Japan since 1963 , the 55th Middle School in Beijing, China since 1994 and St. Mark's High School in   Taxas, United States. Through the sistership between the schools, we have developed various programs of mutual   interest. Some of the programs include publishing research results on the history and culture of each country,   visiting historical sites of each country, exchange of students and staffs for language programs, etc

We look forward to having another sister school in other countries. Our schools are interested in finding a private school which can actively participate in a number of exchange programs designed to meet the demands for cyber navigation skills, language tools, and cultural understanding.

An Opinion in Sistership Establishment

It is called that today is 'The society of information and knowledge' or 'The age of globalism'. That is to say, today we need not only national advantage but also the continuous effort for the mankind's co-existence and peace. Therefore a young man cannot play a great role as a leader of Korea's future without understanding the international senses.

Especially, America that has had the blood relationship with Korea ranks at the top among the advanced nations. Sistership establishment between two schools would give a chance to exchange both languages and to understanding culture and customs.

To accomplish this, we would like to exchange teachers and students, shade student's work and educational materials, and make strong sistership establishment. As a result of this program, we would like to accumulate our friendship for a long time.
